Tabali Reserva Carmenere

Name: Tabali
Variety: Reserva Carmenere
Region: Cachapoal Valley, Chile
Country: Chile
Year: 2012
Price: $7.95

Wine Critic Review: "Dark, statuesque wine with concentrated, potent aromas of black olive, herbs and mulled blackberry. Tastes like textbook Carmenère, but without any jammy overripeness. Flavor of racy spiced berry, olive and  black pepper are all good, and there's that patented herbal, roasted quality on the finish, but not too much."

My Review: I enjoyed this wine much more than I enjoyed the other Tabali wine that we tasted. It had a spiciness to it, and I tasted in it the kinds of spices I enjoy in my foods. I imagine this would pair nicely with the type of foods I prefer. I did not have this wine with food (though I would like to try someday)!
